Hello, Startup : book review

The main reason why I was interested in reading this book is because I saw a youtube video of the author talking at HashiConf’18, I saw that video nearly 2 years later and there were too many things that resonated with my experiences at the time. Yevgeniy Brikman is also the author of “Terraform Up and Running” by O’Reilly, and the founder of Gruntwork the company that created terratest and made it open-source.

I’ve never worked for a startup, but I think I have and had only some of the skills, mindset and knowledge and resilience necessary to work for one. The title “Hello, Startup” with the line “A programmer’s guide to building products, technologies, and teams” was too interesting so I bought it and read it as soon it arrived.

The Practice of the Cloud System Administration – Book review

It all started with “Time Management for System Administrator” of Tom Limoncelli, then I’ve read “The Practice of System and Network administrator”. Then I read “The Practice of Cloud System administrator” which are chronologically ordered and marked as Volume 1 and Volume 2, which both were written by Limoncelli, Hogan, Chalup.

I’m also a musician and as an analogy, I think that good books are like good records. Good books pass the test of time and they inspire your way of thinking or approach to a specific subject. This book is for me an excellent record to put on the turntable when needed, even just to be inspired.

Book Review: Agile Application Security

I’m always looking for books that cover a topic with a different angle or a broader approach, this one is the perfect example, indeed, security-focused but through the magnifier lens or under the influence/culture of Agile.
